Explain This to Me
Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconceived notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads or you shall learn nothing.
~T. H. Huxley
Contemplation is the art of 'wondering' - taking a thought & pondering its meaning and its potentials. It is holding a diamond of many facets in you mind and looking through each facet on the same concept. It is rolling an idea around in your head to see what you can do with it and like a new suit of clothes trying it on in your mind.
And in the process of of doing so, you are expanded & changed...
Here are some gems to delight your growing mind:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
~ Marianne Williamson 'A Return To Love'
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.
~Henry Ford founder of Ford Motor Company
Oh God, help me believe the truth about myself,
no matter how beautiful it is!
~ Macrina Wiederkher
Psi reminds us that the world is profoundly richer and more subtle and more intensely numinous than our science or philosophy has imagined, that wonder and awe in the face of the Universe is not a sign of simple minds, but of those rare minds that have not congealed into lumps of paralyzed skepticism.
~Dean Radin, 1993 presidential address to the Parapsychological Association
Disbelief is a self-fulfilling prophecy ands a pre-requisite for failure when dealing with the powers of the mind. It is the axiom of mental training that you get what you expect.
~John Alexander 'The Warriors Edge'
If the doors of perception were cleansed, all things would appear infinite.
~ William Blake
